The Aux Mille Jeux Early Childhood Centre was founded on March 2, 1992. Its first facility (Serpentin), with 60 spaces, is located on Gaétan-Boucher Boulevard in Marcel-Simard Park in Saint-Hubert. A second facility (Tambourin) opened its doors to children for the first time on September 2, 2003.
In December 2011, Aux Mille Jeux and Mon Petit Édouard Early Childhood Centres merged their operations through a transfer of assets. At that time, the centre offered 196 spaces.
Currently, the centre serves a total of 204 children, including 30 infants and 174 children in the 18-month to 5-year-old groups across its three facilities. This year, we are also welcoming 26 children with special needs and 7 children under the CSSS (Integrated Health and Social Services Centre) protocol. The centre employs 60 permanent and temporary staff.
We are a member of the Regroupement des centres de la petite enfance de la Montérégie (RCPEM), the Association québécoise des centres de la petite enfance (AQCPE), the Coop William, the Mutuelle de prévention des CPE, the Association patronale des CPE de la Montérégie (APCPEM), the Association patronale nationale des CPE (APNCPE) and the Table des partenaires en petite enfance de Saint-Hubert (TPPE).
Our mission is to contribute to the happiness and development of the autonomy of the children entrusted to our care, gradually helping them adapt to group life.
We achieve this by respecting each child’s uniqueness and by focusing on building and maintaining a relationship of trust within the inseparable trio of children, parents, and educators, all within a high-quality, warm, safe, and stable environment.
The competence of our staff, our adaptation to the needs of children and their parents, the development of healthy lifestyle habits, and the implementation of an educational program that facilitates school transition are our ways of supporting families.
1
In the daily practice of our profession, we believe it is important to respect one another, to take the time to listen to others and to ourselves, to recognize and highlight each other’s successes, to congratulate one another, and to encourage one another. In this way, each individual contributes to creating an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
2
We believe we must encourage curiosity, initiative, and new ideas, allow for mistakes, and promote questioning our methods in order to constantly push our boundaries. We value standing out from the crowd, and it is by daring, adapting, and trying together that we will achieve this.
3
For us, it is essential to offer high-quality services, drawing on our expertise and skills daily. To achieve this, we maintain professional communication with all those involved in the children’s lives, including parents, demonstrating discretion and confidentiality, and sharing our experience and advice respectfully and collaboratively. Finally, we are committed to striving for excellence by continuously developing our skills and expanding our knowledge.
4
We value collaborative work, which should be based on complementarity and building trust with management, colleagues, parents, and children. Authenticity, mutual support, sharing and exchanging knowledge, as well as open-mindedness, are the necessary ingredients for the long-term success of our teamwork.
5
For the love of our profession and of children, we believe in the importance of offering a warm welcome to children and their parents, which begins with a smile. We are committed to providing a stimulating environment where children’s joy and happiness are present, allowing us to build strong bonds with them, follow each child’s pace, and listen to them attentively.
